Methodd Cymric fanteisio ar berfformiad da dydd Sadwrn gyda pherfformiad difflach ym Mhenrhiwceibr.
Wedi dweud hynny, aethom ar y blaen yn haeddiannol ar ôl 8 munud pan beniodd Alex Davies, o gic cornel Osian Pritchard, y bel i gefn y rhwyd o 6 llath. Methodd Cymric ddal eu gafael ar y fantais ac o fewn 10 munud roedd Penrhiwceiber wedi unioni’r sgôr. Cawsant gic cornel ddadleuol, a methodd Cymric glirio'r bel yn iawn.
Yna, rhoddwyd gormod o le ac amser i'r ymosodwr gan amddiffyn Cymric wrth iddynt bwshio allan, a throdd a tharo ergyd isel wych i'r gornel dde, gan roi dim siawns i James Hendy. Fe gafodd y ddau dîm gyfleoedd yn ystod gweddill o'r hanner ond gol yr un oedd hi ar yr egwyl.
Gwelwyd fwy o bwrpas i chwarae Penrhiwceibr ar ddechrau’r ail hanner ac aethant ar y blaen ar ol chwarter awr o chwarae. Unwaith eto, roedd amddiffyn Cymric yn araf wrth geisio marcio’r blaenwyr ac fe reolodd ymosodwr Penrhiwceibr yn bel yn wych, fe drodd a tharo ergyd wych i gornel dde uchaf y rhwyd. Dechreuodd Cymric gael mwy o afael ar y gêm a chreu ychydig o gyfleoedd da i unioni yn ystod y 10 munud diwethaf. Yn gyntaf, cafodd Huw Owen gyfle da ond fe darodd ei ergyd waelod y postyn.
Ergydiodd Ryan David ac Alex Davies fodfeddi heibio a cafodd ergyd Osian Pritchard ei harbed yn wych gan golwr Penrhiwceibr. Yn y funud olaf o amser ychwanegol am anafiadau, cafodd Osian Pritchard gyfle euraidd ond aeth ei ergyd fodfeddi heibio’r postyn.
Cymric failed to capitalise on Saturday’s good performance with a lacklustre display at Penrhiwceiber.
But they took a deserved lead after 8 minutes when an Osian Pritchard corner was headed in by Alex Davies from 6 yards. Cymric failed to hold on to that lead and within 10 minutes Penrhiwceiber were level. They were awarded a controversial corner, which Cymric failed to clear properly. Too much space was then awarded to the striker as the Cymric defence pushed out, and he turned and struck an excellent low shot into the bottom right hand corner, giving James Hendy no chance. Both teams then had their moments during the remainder of the half but they remained level at the break.
The second half saw Penrhiwceiber come out with more purpose to their play and they took the lead 15 minutes in. Once again, the Cymric defence were slow to pick up the forwards as they tried to move up and the Penrhiwceiber striker controlled well, turned and struck a superb effort into the top right hand corner.
Cymric then started to get more into the game and created a few good chances to equalise in the last 10 minutes. Firstly, Huw Owen found himself in on goal but his miss-hit shot struck the bottom of the post. Ryan David and Alex Davies had shots that went inches wide and Osian Pritchard was denied by an excellent save from the Penrhiwceiber keeper. In the final minute of added time, Osian Pritchard found himself in on goal but his shot went agonisingly wide.
