Cymric went into this match hoping to bounce back from the heavy defeat they suffered at the weekend.
They had the perfect start when, after 8 minutes, Tom Pritchard unleashed a fierce long range drive from the right into the top corner of the net, giving the Cwmaman keeper no chance.
As the rain fell and the conditions gradually got worse, Cwmaman started to dominate possession but really couldn’t create a clear cut chance as the Cymric defence stood firm. Cwmaman felt they had a couple of good shouts for a penalty but the referee waved away their appeals. Cymric knew that Cwmaman would come out fighting in the second half and they weren’t wrong.
They dominated possession for long periods but James Hendy in the Cymric goal was very well protected by his resolute defence. Cwmaman should have equalised when the forward hit the post with a close range header. Cymric did create some chances on the break but weren’t able to capitalise and test the Cwmaman keeper.
However, with 20 minutes remaining Cymric extended their lead with a fantastically worked goal. Dylan Roberts broke up another Cwmaman attack and fed the ball to Ynyr James at left back. He found Tom Davies inside and continued his run down the flank. Davies then found Dan Roberts and his first time pass found James on the left wing. James’ low first time cross found Dylan Evans sprinting into the box and his first time side foot shot found the corner of the net with the keeper looking on helplessly.
Cwmaman continued to dominate on a difficult pitch but still couldn’t find a way past the Cymric defence and they held on for an excellent win.
