Huw Owen yn gwibio lawr yr asgell

Yn dilyn mis o law trwm roedd Cymric yn falch o fod nôl yn chwarae gyda thrip fyny i berfeddion y Cymoedd.

Roedd y cae yn drwm ond roedd Garw yn benderfynol o geisio chwarae allan o’r cefn. Synhwyrodd Huw Owen a Ryan David y cyfle i guro’r bêl yn uchel fyny’r cae ac wrth i Garw barhau gyda’r dacteg, roedd hi ond mater o amser cyn camgymeriad.

Llwyddodd y gwasgu uchel i greu cyfleoedd euraid ond yn anffodus, trwy gyfuniad o’r golwr a’r amddiffynwyr yn rasio nôl, ni fedrodd Cymric i ganfod y rhwyd.

Er y cyfleoedd i Cymric, Garw aeth ar y blaen.

Yn dilyn cornel i Cymric, llwyddodd Garw i wrth-ymosod yn chwim a gan ddangos cyflymder rhyfeddol torrodd ymosodwr Garw fewn i’r cwrt cosbi ac er ymdrechion Llŷr Davies, wyrodd ei ergyd fewn i gornel y rhwyd.

Roedd hi’n ddwy munudau yn ddiweddarach wrth i Garw fanteisio ar ofod yn ganol cae.

Dilynodd pasio taclus mewn i’r cwrt cosbi gan alluogi chwaraewr Garw i fwynhau eiliad i daro ergyd heibio i James Hendy i neud hi’n 2-0. Parhaodd Garw i ddominyddu’r chwarae ond arhosodd yn 2-0 tan yr hanner.

Roedd gwelliant dramatig yn chwarae Cymric yn yr ail hanner wrth iddyn nhw fwynhau fwy o feddiant a threulio amser yn hanner Garw. Gyda newidiadau oddi ar y fainc roedd gôl i weld yn anochel i Cymric.

Yn anffodus i Cymric, er arbed campus gan James Hendy, sgoriodd Garw i neud hi’n 3-0.

Dylai Cymric wedi tynnu gôl yn ôl gyda rhediad campus gan Llŷr Davies yn gweld yr amddiffynnwr yn ei dynnu lawr. Yn anffodus nid oedd Dylan Roberts yn medru sgorio o’r smotyn wrth i’r golwr fynd y ffordd iawn ac arbed ei ergyd.

Cymric returned to action for the first time in over a month with a difficult visit to Blaengarw.

Early on, Garw tried to play out from the back but a lively and high press from Cymric nearly paid off on a number of occasions in the opening 20 minutes.

Pressure from Huw Owen and Ryan David resulted in a couple of clear chances for Cymric but some last ditch tackles from the Garw defenders managed to thwart Ryan David and Osian Pritchard from opening the scoring.

But despite the positive start from the visitors, it was Garw who opened the scoring midway through the first half.

A Cymric corner was cleared and found the Garw striker, whose blistering pace took him past Ynyr James and Llyr Davies. Llyr Davies managed to get back to put in a challenge but only to see the shot deflect into the corner of the net.

Garw immediately made it two as they carved Cymric open after they found space in midfield. Some neat passing in and around the area created the space for the Garw player to slot home. For the rest of the half Cymric struggled with Garw dominating possession but the score remained 2-0 until half time.

Cymric were much improved in the second half, enjoying greater possession and territory and pressed for a goal to bring them back into it. Fresh legs off the bench further contributed to Cymric’s improvement and a number of chances were created.

But Cymric failed to take those chances and as they pushed, gaps materialised and Garw nearly made it 3-0 but for a great save from James Hendy who managed to scoop a ball that was behind him and goal bound.

Garw’s threat on the counter ultimately paid off but with the help of some good fortune. Two mis-hit shots fell to Garw players and the second time resulted in an easy tap-in.

Cymric should have scored a consolation goal from the penalty spot after Llyr Davies’s superb run into the box resulted in him being brought down. But Dylan Roberts’ spot kick was struck to the keeper’s left at a nice height and as the keeper guessed right he saved, ensuring a clean sheet for the home side.
